Real bread is the bread we love; it is handmade, full of natural ingredients and embraces the time honoured craft of baking bread.  

Natural, Sometimes Organic

We use organic flour, and although not all of the ingredients we use are organic, they are free from additives, assuring our customers that we care about the nutritional value of everything we bake.  We aim to source locally whenever possible and are fortunate enough to have a like-minded farm shop on our doorstep.

Our Bread Selection

Some of our breads are made with levain or sourdough that contains no commercial yeast, only naturally occurring wild yeasts from a mixture of  flour and water from the tap.  The loaves take a while to proof, but the time taken enhances the flavour and lengthens the shelf life without the need for preservatives.  This long fermentation method is a process that maximises the full potential of the flour and is what makes our bread look and taste outstanding. Here is a selection of our favourites.

CHALK HILLS SOURDOUGH

Our champion bread, we love it with soups and stews, it makes the best toast and little sturdy egg-dipping soldiers

SEEDED SOURDOUGH

Fantastic with stews and casseroles and has a nutty flavour when toasted

SURREY BLOOMER

A good all rounder, great for a bacon sandwich or a satisfying piece of toast

CAPE SEEDED LOAF

A tasty, wholesome sandwich loaf 100%

RYE

Rich, full flavoured bread, lovely with smoked fish and cured meats

CIABATTA

Baked the Italian way, delicious just with olive oil and an ideal base for brushetta

FIG AND WALNUT

This bread is a perfect match for cheese or on its own as a tasty snack

OLIVE BREAD

Packed with Kalamata olives, pairs well with salads and soups

FOCCACIA

Tender and rich and full of Mediterranean flavour, a meal in itself

SWEET THINGS

We produce a delicious round tea cakes, sticky Chelsea buns, chocolate croissants and almond croissants.  For all our croissants, we add pure butter to make them flaky and buttery just as they should be.
